Overview

The Key Account Manager - Energy Sector will have responsibility to identify design and revenue opportunities within the Energy sector. Further, the position will support the successful introduction of new products and solutions through ongoing engagement with our key customers and product launch activities throughout an assigned territory.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • The primary responsibility of this role will be the Key Account Management of selected End-User, EPC and distribution accounts. This will involve the preparation of a detailed Key Account Plan, and will involve developing a deep understanding of these organizations, developing relationships with key decision makers and influencers and understanding their concerns / requirements surrounding instrumentation products and solutions.

  • Drive the instrumentation specifications of the selected end-user accounts, on both generic and projects specific basis in order to ensure our inclusion on relevant vendor lists and approved material lists, and to track the relevant valve packages via the OEM supply chain.

  • Identify a product development strategy to address the requirements and needs of these key customers and to be able to drive these development plans through the IMI Precision Engineering organization, supporting the plans with well-justified business cases.

  • Promote the range of products into the Engineering Contractors within the US.

  • The incumbent will form part of our Energy Team and will need to coordinate activities tier activity alongside other members of that team in order to ensure a comprehensive coverage into projects which span multiple countries or continents.

  • Responsible for launching new IMI Precision Engineering products into the selected accounts.

  • The role requires frequent travel within the US, including the sites of existing and new. Estimated travel to be 50% with over nights required.

  • Required to produce a project database, to track each project, and to liaise with our team-members around the world to ensure that we are maximizing the potential within each opportunity.

  • Produce detailed forecasts for the sale of all products into the selected accounts.

  • Present detailed technical & commercial proposals to selected customers.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors from a College or University is required, preferred degree in Engineering, and a minimum of 5 years’ experience in selling engineered products and solutions into the US Oil & Gas, Petrochemical & Chemical markets.

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in selling valve automation products.

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive technical understanding of solenoid valves and their application within our target market and applications.

  • An ability to work unsupervised for extensive periods and will have experience of working closely with key End-Users. Must be a self-starter who can translate strategic direction into their own tactical action plan at their designated key accounts, then successfully execute their plan to meet and exceed revenue growth objectives.
