This Machining supervisor is a hands-on, working supervisor who leads the activities of manufacturing & machining personnel within a specific area of assignment. The Machining Supervisor leads the safety, quality and productivity of an hourly workforce to achieve corporate, plant, and departmental objectives. Responsibilities include managing process control, raw material inventory, rate of production and quality measurement.
Responsible for the development, discipline, and management of their employees.
Monitors work area to insure safety, housekeeping, and environmental compliance regulations are understood & adhered to.
Communicates and behaves in a professional manner that supports the mission, vision and policies of the organization.
Represents manufacturing and/or the organization at various meetings &/or on various cross functional events.
Performs job with the highest regard for quality and safety on all products produced.
Possess strong programming, problem solving, product, process and functionality in product manufacture.
Evaluates operating condition of equipment, communicates needs with manager.
Schedules, plans and prioritizes workflow to obtain maximum efficiencies.
Accurately tracks and reports key metrics on quality, efficiency, scrap, safety and delivery.
Maintains exemplary attendance and punctuality. Notify manager in advance of time-off.
Acts as keeper of the tooling.
High school diploma
Three or more years of related machining experience
Competency in basic math including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages and decimals.
Ability to work from written and verbal instructions, as well as blueprints.
Ability to use basic inspection gages including ring & plug thread gages, GO and NOGO gages, Mueller gages, Dial Bore gages, both dial and digital calipers and all types of micrometers, scalles and height gages.
