The Production Supervisor (Production Unit Leader) in Auburn, WA supervises, coordinates, and leads production activities of employees to meet production schedule, quality, and cost objectives. Responsibilities include coaching and training of production employees on safety, policies, Quality procedures and processes, thereby enhancing their ability to perform their jobs. Selects and or recommends personnel for employment, advancement, transfer, or discharge.
Production Supervisor is responsible for safety for all personnel and processes
Ensures that all production systems are operating at optimum levels and efficiencies
Meets customer expectations and internal goals of costs, quality, and schedule.
Administrates and coordinates production staff related activities including annual employee reviews and time cards.
Training – insures timely on-the-job training is provided to all employees.
Assures Quality and Environmental Management System processes and directives are supported and maintained.
Assures Product Documentation is complete and accurate
Maintains a clean, orderly, and safe work unit using ‘Six S’ program guidelines.
Participates in New Product Introduction (NPI) team meetings and actively participates in the development of the product.
Requires a two-year technical education (Associates Degree) or equivalent education and experience. (Education equivalent equals four (4) years of closely related experience.) Bachelors degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
Two to five years supervisory experience required.
Prior knowledge of TS16949 Quality System Standards and ISO 14001 Environmental Standards preferred.
LEAN Manufacturing experience is preferred.
Manufacturing enviornment experience is preferred.
Supervises production employees and provides direction and coordination of assembly operations.
- General computer use, ability to create, manipulate and interpret Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, WORD, etc) at a basic level and use the Visual Manufacturing System
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works near moving mechanical parts.
The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
Safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection will be required where appropriate.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger; handle; grasp; or feel objects, tools, or controls; and communicate with co-workers by speaking and listening.
The employee frequently is required to sit; reach with hands and arms; twist at the neck and waist and operate hand controls.
The employee must occasionally lift; push; pull and/or move up to 25 pounds.
