IMI Precision Engineering Manufacturing Engineer (Safety) in Brookville, Ohio

Our Brookville Ohio location, estabilished for over 50 years and leading manufacturer of pneumatic actuators, is looking to add a dedicated and experienced Manufacturing Engineer to their team. This is a full-time opportunity for an employee oriented organization that offers the following:

Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer evaluates manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods; designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials using lean manufacturing methodology; conferring with equipment vendors; and soliciting observations from operators. This role will also support Health, Safety, and Environmental initiatives.

Responsibilities

  1. Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

  2. Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods, conferring with equipment vendors.

  3. Ensure the most economical production of parts through the recommendation of materials and manufacturing processes to be used to produce high quality parts and product.

  4. Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.

  5. Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.

  6. Identify and track lean savings from various lean projects. Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

  7. Responsible for all process documentation including work instructions, control plans, tool systems, PFMEA’s, etc.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related undergraduate degree and five years of experience in a combination of manufacturing and/or Quality Assurance roles.

  2. Experience in lean manufacturing and/or a strong background in the implementation of lean manufacturing.

  3. Knowledge of quality standards used in manufacturing such as ISO 001, QS9000 and TS 16949.

  3. Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills.

Computers and Technology

  1. Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)

  2. Proficient in the use of CAD/CAM systems, experience with MasterCam a plus.
