IMI Precision Engineering RMA and Inspection Technician in Brookville, Ohio
In conjunction with manufacturing and engineering teams, this position helps to execute and maintain a quality inspection system for IMI Precision Engineering that will assure all products and services consistently meet company standards and customer requirements.
Maintain returned goods inspection (RMA) process. Identify opportunities for improvement.
Effectively communicate identified non-conformance issues to appropriate personnel.
Work independently or in a team environment to perform failure analysis and investigate root cause(s) to develop robust corrective action plans for customer complaints and internal audit findings.
Initiate reports for non-conforming materials and containment of the material.
Interpret drawings and perform inspections of component and finished goods.
Perform inspection of incoming materials.
Assist with gage calibration process.
Assist with gage Repeatability & Reproducibility (R&R) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
Assist with internal audits of Quality Management System (QMS).
Assist with root cause analysis (5 Why, etc.).
Assist with tracking of corrective and preventive actions.
Participate in quality departmental meetings regarding associated metrics reporting and 6S/ lean activities.
Assist with preventive action, kaizen events, and continual improvement initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
One-year certificate from college or technical school.
Minimum 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Skills and Competencies
Proficient with dimensional measuring equipment including: Digital calipers, Micrometers, Height Gage, Optical Comparator and similar equipment.
CMM or Smart Scope experience a bonus.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Blue print reading including the use of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and respect for diversity. Must be able to communicate effectively and efficiently in all business related matters.
Excellent planning, analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to multitask required.
Computers and Technology
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Exposure to or knowledge of quality software’s including, Gage Track, Minitab, etc.
Exposure to an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards
Certification as Quality Technician (CQT) by the American Society for Quality preferred.
Certification as Quality Auditor (CQA) a plus.
