IMI Precision Engineering Director of Marketing - Life Sciences in Colorado, United States
Lead marketing team for IMI Precision Engineering’s Life Science business in Americas. Member of Life Science leadership team. Supervise team of 3-4 marketing professionals. Duties include, but are not limited to strategic marketing, product marketing, new product development, marketing communications, and public relations. Key driver in developing and executing 5-year strategic plan, as well as NPD agenda and commercialization.
Essential functions and responsibilities
Supervise, develop, and retain high potential marketing team comprising 2-3 product managers and 1 marketing coordinator.
Lead effort to ensure business has deep understanding of customers, competitors, and market trends.
Lead development and execution of 5-year strategic plan.
Build and manage product portfolio comprising range of products for fluidic management that is sold to OEM customers in life science market. Responsibilities include sales and customer product support, pricing, product life cycle management, etc.
Lead NPI process and collaborate with engineering, sales, and other key functions to develop new product roadmap and drive new product development. Responsibilities include understanding customer requirements, collecting voice of customer, developing new product business cases, positioning new products to capture market leading products, execution of new product development projects, etc.
Manage marketing communications and product promotions. Responsibilities include developing product briefs, white papers, brochures, presentations; developing and managing web content, digital marketing; coordinating and supporting tradeshows; managing programs to generate sales leads; etc.
As member of Life Science leadership team, demonstrate strong leadership in formulating and executing strategy and business plans that will generate consistent strong and profitable growth.
Partner with sales leadership team to ensure sales team has necessary and appropriate sales tools and product information to succeed in their roles.
Analyze, interpret and report market trends and competitive activity to inform business strategy and planning, pricing, and licensing & acquisition activity.
Coordinate with global marketing group to ensure alignment and support Division goals, strategy, branding procedures & initiatives, etc.
Maintain relevant databases to support these activities, e.g., competitive activity, market trends, customer profiles, market research reports, etc.
Lead pricing activity for business, including periodic review and revisions to strategic pricing initiatives.

Education & experience
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, marketing, economics, or business required
Advanced marketing degree or MBA preferred
10+ years of marketing experience with at least 5 years of management experience with demonstrated success in recruiting and developing high performing marketing talent and teams
Experience in fluid automation and/or marketing of technical products to OEMs and/or the life science (medical device, diagnostic and analytic instrumentation, bioprocessing, biotech) required
