The Operations Manager in Farmington, CT will supervise the manufacturing process, within the established standards and guidelines, in alignment with established goals, to produce the highest quality, lowest cost product in a safe and clean environment. Provide consistent, fair and timely feedback to team members through various channels, i.e., one on one opportunities, reviews, coaching, mentoring, and training in accordance with the company culture.
Create & maintain production schedules
Direct staff of employees which includes mechanical & electrical assemblers, Machine shop operators, automotive and level line assemblies.
Work closely with engineering group to ensure that manufactured product adheres to design specs
Ensure that product meets quality standards
Monitor performance of direct reports
Review each dept. on-floor production, reporting status to GM. Communicate with all related depts. on schedule issues. Knowledge/experience with MRP a must.
Maintain up to date knowledge of overdue and pending work due and work with managers to meet delivery dates.
Attend production meetings and voice production delivery problems and communicate to department heads.
Be proactive with production issues, develop and implement procedures to offset loss of man-hours and schedule interruptions. Identify equipment malfunctions, expedite repairs
Insure quality standards are met by adhering to policy and procedures. Interface with inspection on exceptions, notifying Engineering and General Manager as necessary.
In Accordance to company policy, and in conjunction with managers, hire and fire, initiate employee status changes. Perform evaluations on performance and conduct periodic reviews. Monitor personnel and training requirements.

Education and Experience
Proven management and direct supervision skills
Strong planning & organizational skills
Proven ability to meet production goals in a high-growth, fast paced environment
Bachelors Degree and aMinimum 5 years in a management manufacturing production position with thorough knowledge of a specialized or technical field.
Excellent communication, management, and people skills a must. Strong working knowledge of MRP, computerized.
