Overview

The Project Manager position is responsible for leading various projects and ensuring project scope is delivered while meeting agreed to requirements for time, cost, and quality. This person will need to be hands-on in our plant and work directly with key departments.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver project scope while meeting time, cost, and quality requirements

  • Identify profit maximizing opportunities such as repositioning manufacturing production lines, equipment, and key products

  • Maintain and report appropriate business performance KPI’s

  • History of partnering and identifying with new suppliers/vendors that will work within the business

  • Support the development and training of project team members through support and mentoring whilst managing dynamic and changing resource criteria

  • Proactively share knowledge and be an active member of the business unit Leadership team

  • Prepare, present and co-ordinate weekly and monthly project meetings with team members and steering group to maintain project targets that are specified in the scopes and remits

  • Act as a business partner with any external organisations

  • Create and coordinate cross-functional project teams through the whole project cycle. As such lead and coordinate project meetings and reviews

  • Create and execute project plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements

  • Manage change requests to control scope through project completion

  • Identify resources needed and assign individual responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of projects

  • Review deliverables prepared by team

  • Effectively apply Precision Engineering project methodology and best practices to enforce project standards

  • Identify and proactively manage risk

  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately

  • Manage and maintain effective communication with all internal and external stakeholders, such as suppliers, sales managers and customers, as well as members of the management team

  • Hold regular status meetings with project team

  • Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University with four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Skills and Competencies

  • Experienced repositioning manufacturing production lines to increase profitability

  • Problem solving, time management and prioritization skills.

  • Initiative and drive with a dynamic personality and the ability to influence others.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Ability to embrace ambiguity

Computers and Technology

  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook

Certifications

  • Project Management certification a plus
