IMI Precision Engineering Category Manager in Littleton, Colorado
The Category Manager defines, develops and executes sourcing strategies, supplier development and purchasing tactics, looking for the best total cost of acquisition and overall performance of suppliers to achieve the objectives by the company.
Develop sourcing strategy with internal clients, fully lead, execute and manage sourcing projects: supplier selection, award and transition, establish processes for clear project hand-off to tactical personnel.
Coaching and mentoring procurement teams in the areas of sound tactical purchasing practices in accordance with the most current process work instructions
Lead pricing/contract negotiations for, and in conjunction with, the site level team(s)
Contract management (performance agreements, NDA, T’s & C’s)
Supplier consolidation & rationalization (selection/reduction/standardization) in alignment with overall category strategies (as managed by the other Category teams)
Establish and develop key supplier relationships
Lead supplier business reviews/general meetings
Provide analysis of the purchase profile at each site by category and supplier and evaluate supply chain risks. Help create improvement plans to achieve savings targets and mitigate risk through evaluation of suppliers in low cost countries, value-added projects, vendor consolidation, and negotiation.
Improve the performance of suppliers using tools for continuous improvement and business management.
Ensure the proper functioning of the procurement cycle operating to meet the need of IMI and its customers.
Monitor key metrics for assigned sites (suppliers scorecard, cost and risk mitigation, PPV, suppliers PPM, etc.)
Comply with procedures, requirements, governmental, environmental, legal and tax established policies and procedures of the organization, Quality and environmental policies according to IMI Quality system.
Participate in activities and work programs of the System of Occupational Safety and Health as required.
Perform all activities with adherence to corporate values.
Develop a thorough understanding of IMI supply chain needs and recommend capable and competitive suppliers.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering or Supply Chain from an accredited university, MBA or equivalent (preferred)
5 + years of experience in sourcing direct materials and procurement with increased level of responsibility
Computers and Technology
Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Knowledge of Systems ERP (MK, J.D. Edwards, Oracle)
- CSCP, CPSM or other APICS or ISM certification a plus.
