IMI Precision Engineering International Trade Compliance Analyst in Littleton, Colorado

Overview

The International Trade Compliance Analyst works with internal and external stakeholders, including import/export regulatory agencies, handling critical regulatory tasks and analysis. This individual provides recommendations to the company on new or developing regulatory requirements, compliance with existing regulations, and regulatory constraints.

Responsibilities

  1. Provides expertise in tariff classifications. Responsibilities include classifying new products and auditing classifications of existing products, as well as ensuring accurate classifications are loaded in the applicable ERP systems and databases, used on documentation, and declared on imports/exports.

  2. Provides expertise in country of origin determination and NAFTA rules of origin. Responsibilities include soliciting and generating certificates of origin, as well as ensuring accurate COO and FTA detail is loaded in the applicable ERP systems and databases, used on documentation, and declared on imports/exports.

  3. Generates timely and accurate trade compliance reports, analysis and metrics on an ongoing basis.

  4. Performs activities outlined in the company compliance manuals, inclusive of compliance training and ongoing audit of entries.

  5. Provides expertise in US import and export processes. A working knowledge of Incoterms, international shipping and documentation is necessary to support the business.

  6. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders, including customs brokers, regarding company policies and trade compliance procedures.

  7. Interprets and internally communicates, in a timely manner, critical Customs export and import related government agency policies, procedures and regulations, both existing and newly published, to maintain/ensure compliance with regulatory standards and to facilitate regulatory approvals.

  8. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  2. Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience working in a similar role for a Custom House Broker or global manufacturer or equivalent combination of education and experience

  3. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or NCBFAA Certified Compliance Specialist (CCS) highly preferred

  4. NCBFAA Certified Export Specialist (CES) or Certified US Export Compliance Officer (CUSECO) a plus

Computers and Technology

  1. Advanced skills in MS Excel

  2. Experience in various ERP and reporting systems; preferable in Oracle or JDE

  3. Experience with VBA or SQL preferred

Certifications

  1. Licensed Customs Broker (LCB) or NCBFAA Certified Compliance Specialist (CCS) preferred
