IMI Precision Engineering Quality Systems Manager in Littleton, Colorado

Overview

Quality Systems Manager is responsible for conducting quality assurance audits of production facilities, assuring company standards are maintained, and project integrity is preserved. The incumbent will be involved in 'hands on' quality assurance and change-management activities while providing leadership, direction and focus to the Quality department.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Report to top management on the performance of the quality management system, related company metrics, and any needs for improvement

  2. Serve as the ISO management representative for ISO 9001 and TS16949 for the manufacturing operation. Develop and implement systems, procedures, and work instructions to support the Company Management System and other systematic processes

  3. Coordinate and ensure the administration of all aspects of the Quality programs for the operation including production support, inspection, deviation process, calibration, and warranty returns. Responsible for establishing policies and procedures to ensure that product quality will meet and/or exceed internal and external customer needs and expectations, while achieving operational excellence and variation reductions

  4. Manage the activities of all members of the Quality department providing training, assistance and backup as necessary for the following:

  • Corrective action investigations (i.e. 8D,5Y) and reporting for both customer complaints and supplier issues

  • Inspection activities, including first article reports and PPAP

  • Return material authorizations (RMAs) and warranty processing

  • Evaluation and disposition of non-conforming material rejections

  • Initiating and implementing change requests for applicable process and documentation updates

  1. Responsible to ensure that customer requirements are addressed through participation in APQP and other new product development related activities, including control plan review, setting quality objectives and related training, corrective and preventive actions, product design and development

  2. Analyze reports and data in support of in-house process improvements, corrections, and corrective actions as a means of continual improvement

  3. Organize and maintain the Internal Audit process, including the selection and training of auditors

  4. Facilitate meetings and lead the efforts for the Quality department’s daily meetings. Report monthly Quality metric performance including planned actions for continuous improvement against metric goals

  5. Interface directly, and conduct technical conversations with both customers and suppliers on quality related issues including reporting, problem analysis and system audits

  6. Maintain frequent contact with employees and departments to promote customer focus and achievement of business objectives

  7. Administer layered audit program

  8. Promote safety and drive participation in safety program.

  9. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelors in Engineering or related undergraduate degree – MBA a plus- or equivalent combination of education and work experience

  2. 7+ years of experience in a combination of Manufacturing and/or Quality experience

Skills and Competencies

  1. Self-motivated, proactive individual capable of working as a member of a team, leading teams and operating independently

  2. Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously

  3. High level of integrity and the demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner

  4. Excellent presentation/facilitation, organizational, analytical, and written/oral communication skills

  5. Ability to work in a fast paced, growth-oriented and time-critical environment

  6. Must have working knowledge of relevant laws and regulations governing employment practices and procedures

Computers and Technology

  1. Proficient using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook)

  2. Familiarity with Minitab, Microsoft Visio, and SharePoint a plus

Certificates and Licenses

  1. CQE or CQM certification through ASQ a plus

  2. ISO 9001 and ISO/TS 16949 Lead Auditor certification

  3. AIAG Core Tools certification
