IMI Precision Engineering Assembly/Shipping Supervisor in Medway, Massachusetts

Overview

The position has overall responsibility in overseeing all assembly and finishing operations, outplant processing, shipping and receiving, and inventory control.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities :

  • Oversee cycle counts to maintain minimum inventory levels of finished goods, supplies and components.

  • Generate work orders and coordinate assembly personnel for customer orders, urgent orders, stock and laser marking, special stamping/marking requests.

  • Perform daily and weekly review of inventory stock requirements based on reports and visual inspection of products, including logistics lists, back orders, back log, new orders

  • Reviews sales orders to confirm required ship dates. Notifies Customer Service regarding any delays.

  • Oversees and maintains minimum inventory levels of all packaging materials. Minimizes shipping costs by recycling packaging materials and packing efficiently.

  • Oversees that all packages are safely wrapped and properly documented and assists with international orders.

  • Evaluates cost effective shipping methods and materials, helps negotiate contracts.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in Mechanical Assembly environment .

  • Minimum of 5 years Supervisory experience.

  • Broad knowledge of shipping and receiving techniques.

  • Supervises all incoming and outgoing discrepancies, defective parts or damaged goods with vendors, carriers, production, accounting or sales personnel.

Preferences:

  • Background in the use of ERP Software, with an emphasis on planning and inventory control.

  • Firm understanding of the entire suite of Microsoft Office.
