We are looking for a IT Site Administrator to join our team. This position requires a dynamic individual who is a self starter and enjoys problem solving.

Overview

The IT Site Administrator provides customer service and support to the IMI Precision Engineering Americas regional desktop infrastructure while focusing on supporting local personal. The IT Site Administrator may also assist with hardware evaluation and implementing new technologies. The IT Site Administrator will provide support at both the Saline, MI and Rochester Hills, MI facilities.

Responsibilities

  1. Travel is required as the individual will split support time with Saline and Rochester Hills. Other sites may be added in the future that will require additional travel.

  2. Assist ERP administrator with repetitive tasks, i.e. new user accounts and permissions.

  3. Assess both new acquisitions and existing sites from a technology perspective, research possible solutions, recommend optimal changes to the environment, and ensure implementation by leveraging IT department resources

  4. Collaborate on IT projects to develop and implement solutions at a regional level.

  5. Create and manage Active Directory accounts and security groups while adhering to security policies

  6. Guide other business departments with organizing and managing their stored network data

  7. Manage and track IP address assignments using DHCP

  8. Manage adds, changes, and moves for desktop phones

  9. Manage network printer and print servers

  10. Lifecycle management of PCs, servers, and mobile devices

  11. Act as a front-line interface to the customer, accepting trouble reports and dispatching them to the appropriate system administrators when escalation is necessary

  12. Proactively manage and monitor the local desktop environment and initiate required corrective actions when issues are identified

  13. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems on Windows OS based PCs as well as a variety of mobile devices

  14. Address customer support issues as quickly as possible; troubleshoot difficult cases, document resolutions and share findings with the rest of the team

  15. Follow internal procedures for Service Now change, request and incident management, escalation. Close monitoring and action upon new incidents both at the local and other regional locations is expected.

  16. Ability to compose reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals if required

  17. Maintain user accounts, rights, and privileges on desktop and laptops and applications when assigned

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from four-year College or University is preferred and 5+ years of job related experience in Desktop Support is required

  2. Experience supporting CAD environment preferred (Catia, AutoCad, Solidworks)

  3. Experience with replacement of desktop/laptop hardware; hard drives, memory, etc

  4. Experience with the support of multi-function printer environment; installation of drivers

Skills and Competencies

  3. Strong organization, written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills

Computers and Technology

  1. Strong working knowledge with Windows 7, Windows 10, Active Directory and mobile device operating systems

  2. Strong working knowledge of network configuration on PCs and mobile devices

  3. Strong working knowledge of desktop applications (MS Office 365)

  4. Strong working knowledge of company applications and the support thereof

Certifications

  1. Microsoft Certification is desired.

  2. ITIL Foundations Certification is a plus
