Overview

Perform all accounting activities of the location as well as provide timely reporting and analysis of financial conditions and results from operations.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Enter daily cash receipts and monitor cash balances on a daily basis.

  • Monitors all aspects of AR. Reviews customer accounts and credit limits, run credit checks for potential customers and collections on past due accounts.

  • Monitor all aspects of AP. Match packing slips to invoices and follow up with any discrepancies in a timely manner. Get approval for non PO invoices. Enter all invoices into the system and process weekly and timely vendor payments..

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for all accounts.

  • Post and enter month end and adjusting journal entries.

  • Post bi-weekly payroll, track overtime costs and temp employee hours

  • Check and verify expenses and distribute to proper general ledger accounts. Set up new General Ledger accounts as needed.

  • Balance and monitor all prepaid and accrued expenses.

  • COGNOS GL data load, entering KPI’s, and resolve COGNOS Reconciliations.

  • Support internal audit functions.

  • Prepare various special reports utilizing personal computer spreadsheet software.

  • Provide various reports and analysis regarding department expenses and profit planning, working with managers regarding requests for information and assistance.

  • Ability to project accounting data for budgetary purposes, to show the effect of the proposed budgetary plans such as capital investment, income, cash position and overall financial condition.

Qualifications

  • BS in Accounting or similar field

  • CPA preferred but not required

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in public or private within the manufacturing sector

  • Experience in financial audits from either the public or private perspective.

  • ERP system experience preferred, Oracle a plus but not required

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Windows (Powerpoint a plus however not required)

  • Highly developed communication skills, both oral and written, enabling positive and effective interaction at all levels of the organization.
