The Experienced CNC Machinist will program, do detailed set ups, and run prototype work on a Quintax. The Experienced CNC Machinist will machine large parts and often will work with Carbon Fiber. The Experienced CNC Machinist will also be responsible for the training of other machinists and machine operators.
Ensures maximum levels of production through proper operation of machinery; recommends new and more efficient processes.
Able to perform advanced level programming in the manufacturing of parts on all shop machinery.
Possess knowledge working properties of all materials.
Sequences and performs machining of parts and products in accordance with drawings, specifications and material requirements.
Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance with plant management system.
Produces quality parts while meeting scrap and rework standards; through proper in-process inspection.
Maintains production records to avoid costly errors.
Performs Machine set-ups, tool offsets, edits and troubleshoots programs without supervision; aids & trains less experienced personnel in these activities.
Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork.
Recognizes and resolves tooling wear and other production problems.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent.
Formal GD&T training.
Technical training/certification preferred.
5+ years previous experience as a machinist.
Skills and Competencies
Advanced math skills.
Expert-level blueprint reading skills.
Computers and Technology
Competent with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook).
Knowledge of ERP systems.
