Overview

This CNC Machinist position will be running CNC mills. The CNC Machinist lays out work from blueprints and written specifications and is able to set up, operate, and program all available machine tools and performs progressive machining operations. The experienced CNC Machinist will work with tight tolerances and may need to meet unusal machining requirements. The CNC Machinist should be familiar with working properties of all materials. This position will perform low volume production and some prototype work. This position is a night shift position.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures maximum levels of production through proper operation of machinery.

  • Able to perform basic programming in the manufacturing of parts with some supervision.

  • Possess familiarity with working properties of various materials.

  • Performs machining of parts and products in accordance with drawings, specifications and material requirements.

  • Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance with plant management system.

  • Maintains quality standards on all parts being produced through proper use of measuring devices and fixtures.

  • Maintains production records and boards.

  • Keep all assigned machines running for to production standards.

  • Performs Machine set-ups, tool offsets, edits and troubleshoots programs without supervision.

  • Aids in the training of Entry level machinists and all operator levels.

  • Recognizes and resolves tooling wear problems.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 2+ years previous experience as a Machinist.

Skills and Competencies

  • Intermediate math skills

  • Working knowledge of GD&T.

  • Blueprint reading skills; technical training preferred

  • Programming knowledge of: Mastercam, Feature Cam, EIA, ISO and G-Code

  • Intermediate computer skills.
