Overview

The Driver/ General Laborer is responsible for the delivery of materials between plant locations as well as to local vendors and customers. The Driver/ General Laborer is also required to perform other job duties when required including, but not limited to, working in Machining, Mechanical Assembly, Electrical Assembly and assisting with any maintenance or Lean projects.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all safety guidelines including utilization of proper PPE.

  • Properly load the vehicle to ensure load balance and avoid damage to items in transit.

  • Follow weight and size restrictions for each vehicle.

  • Perform routine maintenance and checks on the vehicles.

  • Follows proper operating procedures and maintains proper records in accordance within plant management system.

  • Demonstrates positive relations and teamwork as established in the IMI Way and Leadership Blueprint within the organization

  • Perform general maintenance duties such as painting and cleaning.

  • Keeps work area clean and organized to insure safety and environmental compliance.

  • Assist in the shipping, machining and assembly departments whendelivery schedule allows.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  1. High School diploma

  2. Valid driver’s license

  3. Current, valid proof of driver’s insurance

Computers and Technology

  1. Basic computer skills

Certifications

  1. HiLo operators certification
