IMI Precision Engineering Distribution Channel Manager in St. Louis, Missouri



Responsible and accountable for all sales activities working toward the achievement of related sales budget, goals, and objectives with assigned distribution partners. This is a senior level field management position focused on indirect channels to market. The position has significant and very broad revenue and/or geographical territory accountability.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  1. Implement those defined strategies and tactics to achieve budgeted order input and revenue shipmentwith assigned Channel Partners. Recommend to sales management how best to deploy sales channel strategies and resource allocations for served markets.

  2. Demonstrate a strong understanding of the key customers and how this insight is integrated into the Channel Partners business plan and Account Plan, by “pulling the right levers” to generate value, manage the inflation equation and protect the balance sheet. This will be demonstrated through creating, updating and executing quarterly business plans that demonstrate an understanding of the product, assigned Channel Partners and their key accounts, as well as, documenting critical KPI’s, and providing a sales bridge to insure business plan objectives are realized.

  3. Communication of goals and objectives to internal resources to ensure success.

  4. Develop specific business and sales plans to achieve growth objectives including recommendations for new product development and other Company services in support of said plan.

  5. Directly accountable for new account acquisitions and revenue/market share gains with existing Channel Partners.

  6. Deliver results by showing the ability to identify and create opportunities, as well as, set goals that deliver profitability, tackle challenges head-on, respond quickly to obstacles in order to secure a competitive advantage.

  7. Establish and maintain meaningful relationships with the key personnel of each assigned Channel Partner. Fairly arbitrate channel conflicts within assigned channels.

  8. Work with our Strategic Pricing Department in facilitating all pricing contracts including special pricing. Strive for consistency and price/value improvement while working within company policies. Ensure all IMI Precision Engineering terms and conditions are being upheld.

  9. Maintain a general awareness of developments within the market to provide feedback on customer issues, competitor activities, pricing trends, consolidation activities, and marketing initiatives.

  10. Maintain accurate and complete account data within the company CRM system relative to: opportunity, forecasts, milestone dates and other information as required by management.

  11. Provide timely and complete reports and other information as required by management.

  12. Act in a positive and proactive manner, at all times, while representing the Corporation, Division, its products and services, and policies.

  13. Educate and act in a consistent manner within the scope and principles of the IMI Way.

  14. Travel is required. Overnight stays will be required. Position is home office based.

  15. Other duties as assigned.



Education and Experience

  1. Desired Bachelor’s degree with an Engineering concentration

  2. 5+ years of technical and/or commercial sales experience or combination of the following:

  3. 5+ years of Outside industrial sales experience

  4. 5+ years of Distribution management or engagement

  5. 5+ years of Technical support & application
