Overview

We are looking for a world class LEAN LEADER to join our team in University Park, IL. This is a high energy, leadership position that requires a passion for Continuous Improvement and the ability to drive change. The Lean Leader shall provide training, facilitate and lead the implementation of the lean transformation through the utilization of strategy deployment, kaizens and total associate engagement. Key responsibilities are to identify and implement continuous improvement activities to reduce cost, improve quality/productivity and standardize processes across the business.

Qualifications

We require:

  • Well versed knowledge of lean manufacturing, Toyota Production Systems and synchronous flow manufacturing.

  • Participation in a minimum of 20 kaizen activities and leader/facilitator of at least 10 kaizen teams

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field and 5+ years of combined continuous improvement implementation and operations leadership experience.

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with coordinating and facilitating successful continuous improvement teams.

  • Demonstrated ability to understand complex situations and collect data to establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

  • Trained and skilled in the use of all critical lean tools; 5S, Standard Work, SMED, TPM, Material Flow & Pull Systems, Strategy Deployment and Visual Management

  • Knowledge and understanding of Employee Involvement and Team Development skills

  • Flexibility to adjust work hours and travel to meet manufacturing schedule requirements.

  • Possess proven project management skills.

  • Must maintain high ethical standards to support a professional business code of conduct

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects/initiatives within budget limits and time constraints.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Results oriented

  • Extensive knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and statistical software.
