Under direct supervision, performs any combination of the following repetitive tasks on assembly line to mass produce small products. Frequently works at bench as member of assembly group assembling one or two specific parts and passing unit to another worker. May be assigned to different work stations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
Acts as Production Line Lead when absent. This may include, but is not limited to:
Overseeing production personnel to maximize quality and throughput on their line while serving as liaison to the Production Unit Leader.
Regularly audits staffing and production schedule to adhere with dynamic work environment.
Leads activities to promote health and safety of colleagues, improve work processes, ensure positive atmosphere, and develop others.
Line Lead will often partner with cross functional departments to drive improvements in man, method, material and machine.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Bolts, clips, nails, rivets, screws, solders, or otherwise fastens component parts of assembly together, using hand tools, power tools, or bench machines.
Positions, fits, or aligns parts on workbench, floor, or machine, following blueprints, diagrams, guides, holes, reference marks, or work orders.
Loads and unloads previously setup machines, such as arbor presses, drill presses, taps to perform fastening, force fitting or light metal-cutting operation on assembly line.
Holds parts during assembly, using hands, clamps, pneumatic screw presses, or other work aides.
Reads process charts, work orders, blueprints, or other specifications to determine assembly sequence, machine and tooling requirements, measurements, and tolerances.
Regularly performs Quality Control inspections and tests to verify accuracy of finished goods for its conformance to standards, using measuring or testing equipment, or by visual examination.
Adjusts, repairs, or replaces defective product parts, using hand tools.
Cleans dust, dirt, oil, and other foreign matter from material, machine surfaces and facilities, using cleaning solution, rag, air hose or other cleaning tools.
Stamps, labels, or otherwise marks product or packages with identifying data.
Delivers training and assessment to peers on assigned production unit.
Covers all duties of line lead during absence, including but not limited to, inventory transactions, holding team meetings, presenting LEAN topics, and leading a team of assemblers.

Education and Experience
High School Diploma, GED, or the equivalent.
Five years work experience in this or similar industry and/or the recommendation of the department supervisor.
Experience in Visual Manufacturing is preferred
Skills and Competencies
Functions well in a cross-functional team environment.
Experienced in referencing technical drawings for production assembly and comfortable explaining specifications to peers.
Experienced use of hand tools and measuring equipment required.
Comfortable with the structure and content of the English language.
Comfortable understanding and following written directions in English on work related documents.
Communicates effectively with others in writing as indicated by the needs of the audience.
Talking to others to effectively convey information
Listening to what other people are saying and asking questions as appropriate The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Demonstrates discretion, good judgment, organizational and management ability, initiative, and the ability to work independently
Must be tactful in their dealings with people
Demonstrates good computer skills, including a proficiency in Microsoft Office and sending Emails
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to understand the economics of manufacturing such as Open Book Management statements and gross margin reports with minimal assistance.
Computers and Technology
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook)
Must be certified in all Critical operations of assigned production unit(s) and families. (example: Air 1,2,3)
Must be certified in QC operations of assigned production unit(s) and families. (example: Air 1,2,3)
Averages a score above 3.5 in skills matrix for their assigned production unit.
Has capability to work in multiple production units. Has complete and thorough understanding of line lead responsibilities and can perform these duties without assistance. This position may be called upon to act as line lead during times of line lead absences.
