IMI Norgren GT Development is located in Auburn, Washington and provides Engineering solutions and manufactures products for the Commercial Vehicle industry.


The Electrical Engineer will work under general supervision and is a member of the design team for new product development and cost reduction projects. The position is responsible from concept to production and, will support and/or lead critical aspects of the projects that are vital to the business strategy. The design team works within the Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP)Methodology through a tollgate process to release products to the market.


  1. Support cross functional design team to develop embeded electronic control modules and electro-mechanical (mechatronic) products.

  2. Under general supervision work with cross functional design team to reduce cost and enhance performance on products.

  3. Under general supervision will evaluate, select, and apply standard engineering techniqu4s, procedures and criteria using judgment in making adaptations and modifications.

  4. Research requirements, present design options, and document results for project team or engineering management.

  5. Effectively utilize circuit design and layout programs (Altium or similar) to create printed circuit boards and schematic drawings for various components.

  6. Conduct testing on products at different phases in the development process and provide analysis of findings.

  7. Troubleshoot and resolve product integrity issues.

  8. Ensure accuracy and completeness of engineering design, documentation and bill of material for products for both domestic and global levels.

  9. Assist in the design, implementation verification and validation programs to insure designs are adequate for intended purpose.


Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering plus two years related Engineering experience or;

  • Masters degree in Electrical Engineering upon entry.
